Bleck restaurant opened at the beginning of summer 2015 in Lilla Blecktornsparken, Stockholm and almost immediately became one of Södermalms most favourable new meeting spots. However, it took the founder Kalle Schröder many years to find a suitable location for his “Swedish bistro”-venture. It wasn’t until he found out about plans to modernise the area that he realised Bleck could revitalize this sleepy corner of Ringvägen and Katarina Bangata.
The restaurant is located in a former park storage facility but the only thing actually remaining of the original building is the stone facade. Architect Johan Lytz was given practically full creative freedom and together with the team behind Bleck succeeded in turning this previously anonymous environment into a now inviting andinspiring setting. The architecture has kept some of its rough characteristics and raw appeal but is balanced by an accomplished interior. Tactile, natural materials and modern design are contrasted by apparently simple details to create a relaxed atmosphere. And from all corners of the restaurant there is of course a view overlooking the park.
Johan Lytz chose Massproductions Jig Mesh chairs, Jig Mesh bar stools and Odette tables for the outdoor area and Odette table bases for the restaurant.
